So lucky the O'Brien family was to have had such a wonderful caring, and loving neighbor right next to us in RVC, as John was with his ever-glowing eyes and warm smile. My Dad Jack made sure he would take John's phone # when he moved from RVC to Wantagh and so Jack kept in touch with very patient John who he admired so much and it was like they were still neighbors. John set such a wonderful example to his children and grandchildren with his strong faith. John touched so many lives in his career in teaching and what a mind to teach Chemistry. John must have loved this season of the Mets. John will surely be fondly missed.

Dear Dad,
You have been such a symbol of strength all my life. You have led by example. Your hard work ethic and problem solving skills are second to none. Your faith in God continues to inspire me. I have always been so proud to say you're my Dad. To me you're all that is good, kind, and steady in this world. You are the best Dad anyone could ever wish for. You were always my biggest fan whether on the basketball court or just in life in general. I still feel you cheering me on. You are an amazing man who everyone adores. Dad, you really are that good! I love you today and always. Rest in peace sweet Dad.
Love your pretty Peg...

John was much more than a brother-in-law to me. I always called him my brother. He cared for me just like a good brother would and was a wonderful husband to my precious sister, Judy, and loving father to all their children. I know John is in heaven.

I have so many good memories with Cousin Johnny starting from when I was little and he lived in the apartment downstairs on Rogers Avenue and through the years after. He will always be remembered.
