I had the pleasure of trying a case before Judge Bruno over an 11 month period from 2015 through 2016. He was detailed, thoughtful, compassionate and patient and his verdict was reasoned and just. He treated everyone in his courtroom with respect, which caused everyone in the courtroom to respect him in return. I'm sorry to learn of his passing.

As an attorney it was always a true pleasure going into Judge Bruno's courtroom as you knew you would be treated with fairness, honesty, and be given an opportunity to have a real gentleman preside over your case. Very saddened to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace.

Bob was a man filled with much love for his family and great integrity. Kind and giving to all he came in contact with. Our community lost a very special man. I will remember Bob and I will smile. There are only good memories as a neighbor and scouter. My heart goes out to Joann and to his family. I am truly sorry for your loss. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. Angie & George Loeven

Bob is a man of honor, integrity & love. Bob loved his family and friends with his whole heart. More importantly, he cherished them, recognizing that each person was a gift to him for which he demonstrated deep gratitude. Bob leaves an outstanding legacy, one that all of us would be proud to emulate. He will be dearly missed. We know that he is now in unending Joy, Peace & Light and will always be with us.

A truly fine human with all of the best character traits that you would want in anyone. It was always easy to admire him and for so many reasons he honored me and others with his friendship. He devoted his life to his family and he never failed to meet his responsibilities as a son, as a father, as a friend, as a lawyer and later also as a judge. His principles, his values, and his judgment were never in question. Honesty and integrity were his unspoken middle names. He also approached challenges with quiet leadership skills and if issues were serious, he always brought levity and perspective, when appropriate, and always with due respect to those involved. More than all of this, he was always gracious in extending genuine friendship to everyone even if others lacked civilities and issues were heated. He was a monumental friend and I am certain that he will remain in the hearts of the many lives that he touched. To Joann and his family, please accept my sincere condolences.

Bob was a beloved member of our parish family for many years and we will miss him very much. He was quiet and modest and that is how he lived his faith. He lived for and loved his family and they never left his side during his illness. Love is what Bob leaves them and love will always bind them together. On the day of All Saints Bob went home to Our Lord and he became a saint in heaven. That is not a coincidence but a message to the rest of us that God was always with him in his suffering and that God will keep his promise of resurrection. We will see him again.

When I speak of Judge Bob Bruno, I always say he is the best man I know. He’s kind to everyone, loves his family deeply and is as honest as they come. Nassau County was lucky to have him on the bench. He will be missed by all. God’s plan to bring him home on All Saint’s Day is beautiful and fitting. God Bless Bob and may he Rest In Peace.

Bob was a kind and loving individual. He so very much loved his family and cared for his friends. He was a highly moral and principled individual. Fitting that he passed on All Saint’s Day
He will be sorely missed!
