I met Justin in the NYPD academy in October 1990. He was one of my company sergeants. He was truly one of the nicest people I've ever met. He seemed to be much more mature than the rest of us all. Most of us were in our early 20's then and even though he was only a few years older there was just something different about him. We had remained friends since those days and we would bump into each other at promotions/rackets and such. On those occasions he would always greet me with a big smile, a handshake or a hug and we would catch up with each others current events. I will miss him dearly and I pray that he is at peace and with God. Today, on fathers day I will raise a glass to my friend and make a toast in his honor.
Justin, Godspeed my friend. I will remember you always. A friend, a great cop and boss....and a Patriot!!

The news of Justin C Lenz passing shared Thursday morning was of disbelief and shock. My first thoughts as many would have been from all that new him was for Erin, Michael, Rita, his extended family and loved ones. My thoughts and prayers are with those same people, and also with the many co-workers, friends and neighbors who absorbed the shock of such an untimely departure from us all so unexpected. As well as the admires he held from a far.... that category I feel I fall into. I didn't know Justin well, but on our few encounters particularity related to the Mayo Society through the years, he was an active participant, was always helpful, professionalism, and extremely easy going to get along with. My moments shared with him, are in comparison to those who really new him, but share my deepest condolence to you all, and wish my best thoughts and prayers, and wish the days ahead an easy transition to accepting Justin's passing. Best Always, MPR
