Rachel Elkaim (JoAnne Apa) My Thoughts and Condolences to all. I have not stopped thinking of Aunt Renee since I heard the very sad news. I loved her very much. This is a poem I've used more times than I know for special loved ones that have passed from temperal to life eternal. It pretty much sums up how I feel and hope that all that reads it will feel the same pride as I do for this exceptional person. Scrapbook of Many Faces By: Frank R. Apa We've met … often briefly At times throughout our lives Those times ended sweetly As life does when it dies. For your life was never lonely I was there as a comforting friend And when there was a gathering We talked together, hours on end. You had so much to offer Many memories you often spoke Was fun while it lasted Sometimes ending with a joke. But don't go on despairing Your life has now just begun Of those memories you hold so dearly I'll remember every one. Memories of Maureen (Renee) Apa: My cousin, Renee, used to come by bike to visit our family when I was a child. She learned early on the value of working hard. In high school, her girlfriend and she wanted to enroll in the auto mechanics course. Unfortunately, girls were not yet allowed to take the course. Renee was a devout Catholic. She was extremely devoted to her husband, Marty, and their three children....Marty, Tina, and Tom. She was also an extremely proud Grandmother and Aunt. She helped her community by providing food for the homeless. As cousins, we always had a special bond. In fact, we were the sisters neither one of us ever had! Rest in peace. Love, Mary
