Rosa Calandra was born on September 21, 1936 in Santa Margherita, Sicily to Giuseppe and Guiseppa Bilello. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, siblings and grandson, John Anthony. Rosa was married to her loving husband, Liborio Calandra, for over 50 years. She moved to Brooklyn, NY where she worked as a seamstress by trade. Rosa later moved to Queens where she retired and enjoyed time participating in her Italian club with her circle of friends along with her husband. Rosa is survived by her brother, her son John, daughter-in-law Janet, and two granddaughters, Lisamarie and Cristina. Rosa more recently lived nearby her family on Long Island and continued to practice her Catholic faith. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rosa’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which has always been close to Rosa’s heart.
