Mary and I were friends since 1947 when we went to Henry Heide Candy company (remember Jujubee and Juicyfruits) and both landed jobs there. We had many experiences and fun together going to Broadway plays and out to dinner for probably less than $25.00 for the entire night which we saved for maybe 50 cents or maybe a dollar a week. Then I was honored to be a bridesmaid when she and Harry got married and then I married my Harry. Many a wonderful time at the Eggolt pool in Elmont and when she moved to the exorbitantly priced house in Wantagh, I think it was an unheard of $100,000,. the parties always continued. It was an honor and a privilege for me to know and love Mary Alice. May she rest in peace in God's loving hands. Peace, joy and love, Muriel

Grandma was one of a kind. She was strong and kind and always looked for the good in others. I will never forget our trips to Jones beach, shopping at the mall, or eating dinner at Umberto's. I also have great memories of the vacations we went on together with grandpa. We were so lucky to have you both. We love you so much and miss you already.
This poem makes me think of you.
Memories grow
and memories fade,
But memories of Grandma
never go away.
Her smile rests in mine,
her hands help me sew,
her love fills my heart,
her spirit runs through my soul.
In memory of Grandma,
the trunk of my tree,
I live my life as her legacy.

I found this picture in my mom’s photo album just last week. They were all together at Heckscher State Park on 7/29/51. Now they are all together in Heaven.
