Susan was a good friend and an outstanding colleague. Her kindness, generosity, warm demeanor and great sense of humor made her such a unique individual, one whom I was so lucky to count as a friend. I and many others will miss Susan very much, but always remember her for the friend and amazing person she was here with us. She lives on in our memories of her, and her spirit/soul carries forth into the afterlife.
With condolences and very best wishes to Susan's family and many friends.

Susan was such a kind and beautiful soul. I'm grateful to have known her and to have traveled to Croatia with her a few years ago. I still remember her giant suitcase, crammed full of the most stylish outfits, rolling across many bumpy, cobblestone streets! We had some great talks late into the night, over local wine. I will remember her bright smile, the kindness and love she had for her rescue dog, and her laughter and adventurous spirit. My deepest condolences to her family.

Susan's passing is just heartbreaking. I was so honored to be part of her "Heatherlea Family" here in Arlington, VA. When Susie moved into our community around 2006 she was quickly welcomed to the gang because of her warm and outgoing character. We all shared countless adventures together at each gathering we would laugh until we were crying. Susie loved the snow we would occasionally get and she would don her big puffy blue coat which is when I started calling her Susie Snowflake. The sweetest of humans, Susie would never have a bad word to say about anyone and always found the very best in people. We're all sick with grief but we're not going to let this beautiful life well lived be overshadowed by disease and suffering. I'm going to remember her as she would want... forever young, vibrant, alive and having FUN! Rest in peace sweet girl... we leave you in the best hands you could possibly have holding you...God's hands!

Susan was such a caring, genuine, fun, and intelligent person. She believed in me and hired me to join her team at U.S. Commercial Service Long Island. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her. I treasure our time together on Long Island such as when we did wine tasting at Palmer, worked in the small closet-like office at Hofstra, and how we as the dynamic duo made a huge impact for the local Long Island community with her leadership. Susan's impact and memories will live on. She's my great example and role model of how to live life to its fullest.

Dear Sadocha family,
My heartfelt condolences go out to you. Susan was taken far too early from us. I met her when she started working at the Long Island USEAC while I was working in NYC. She struck me as unassailingly nice and sweet.
When Susan took a vacation to Brasil, we got together for dinner when I was posted in Rio de Janeiro. I felt bad because I had to leave early, but she and her friend made sure to have a safe but good time after I left.
We worked together a bit when I was working at the European desk and she was focused on organizing a trip to the Balkans.
Susan was a sweetheart and it makes me sad to think she's gone too soon. My good thoughts go out to her family and friends.

There were so many memories that I have of her, especially when she was younger and she and my son Daniel used to be together, playing around. They were always laughing about something. I used to call her on her birthday and we talked about all the fun we had when the family got together. I especially remember Christmas Eve, opening all the presents and waiting for my mother to make homemade pizza. Susan was a bright light in my life and she will always be in my heart.
