Joseph J. Schlinkert, 96, of Amityville, N.Y. and formerly of Wantagh, N.Y., passed away peacefully July 25, 2021. Devoted husband of the late Doris (nee Carolan). Beloved father of Mary (Patrick) Calabria. Adored grandfather of Faith and Sean (Kianna). Loved great grandfather of Mary Clare. Fond brother of Joan (and the late Richard) Thornton and the late Marion Schlinkert. Loved “Uncle Joe” to many nieces and nephews. Joseph was a proud World War II Army Veteran who received the Bronze Star for bravery. An attorney who spent his entire career at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. The world, without this good man, and true gentleman, is diminished. Family will receive friends Wednesday, 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm, at the Charles J.
