When we moved to Wantagh in 1981, Jim and Marie welcomed us so warmly. They were like parents and certainly great friends to us. Both will truly live in our hearts forever.

Mrs. Strouse was a good Catholic, a good Mother, neighbor, and babysitter. She enjoyed her decorating in colonial style furniture and she like milk glass. She enjoyed Johnny Mathis Christmas songs on the LP records and in her hey-day she enjoyed block parties on Sherry Avenue along with her loving husband Jim. She taught Chris how to make lovely Christmas gifts for her family like potholders and pin cushions boxed with tissue paper and wrapped in Christmas wrapping. Which Chris in turn taught me and I enjoyed learning that tradition and my mother appreciated in very much.
