I used to work with Burt at Geico many years ago. He and I became good friends and he was at my house so many times. Fast forward several years, and I would see him working at Penn station and we'd always take the time to catch up. He was probbly the happiest person I have ever known.

I am so sorry for the Silva family. Burt was a great person. Having known him since 5 years old I can say he was one of the best people I have ever met. We had many memories playing soccer. The out of state tournaments were the best. I could probably write a book of the fun times we had growing up. We were friends and teammates from little kids up until college. Many fun times just hanging out as teenagers and even though we lost touch over the years, every time we saw each other it was laughs and hugs. I dont know anyone who has ever said anything negative about Burt. He was one of a kind and I am sure I will think about him often. Rest in peace my friend. God Bless you and your family. Burt, had this Infectious smile and a twinkle in his eye.
He was funny and full of life, but most of all, without words ever being said you knew he always had your back. That’s how he made me feel as our eyes met while I was running and dodging to catch my train in Penn Station. I am so thankful for all the years we spent talking and laughing over the years. I believe that Burts charisma and sparkle, has left a positive imprint on many lives. I know this because I feel it in my heart.

Burt was truly a special guy. We became friends back in 2003 and I’m so thankful for all the years we chatted in Penn, laughed, we talked about life, the regular characters that came through Penn and so much more. He will always be remembered. He brought so much joy and laughter to everyone. I can’t remember a time when he wasn’t smiling.

Burt was family to us, our traveling buddy and the most special human being! His smile can brighten any room and his infectious laugh can be heard from miles away!
