CAPONI – Rafelina “Rae” born in Inwood and formerly of Wantagh/ N. Bellmore, NY on October 29, 2021 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Lou. Devoted mother of RaeAnne, Sab, Louis (engaged to Roberta), ToniAnne (Jimmy) Petro, and Christian (Kristina). Cherished grandmother of Anthony, Michael Petro, Matthew, Sabrina (engaged to Daniel Finn) Petro, Marisa, Brianna, Louis, Jonathan, Julia, and Amanda. Adored sister of Frank (Fran) and Tony (Donna) Pezzimenti. Beloved by many nieces and nephews. Also survived by her daughter-in-law Susan Caponi. Rae truly embraced her life as a mom and grandma. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife and for her love of family. Rae loved cooking, made sure everyone ate, laughed, and enjoyed being together. Rae was a fierce protector of her family.Rae held positions of leadership in both the Girl Scout and PTA organizations for many years. During the time she and her husband Lou lived in Florida, she was very active in her church, first with Our Lady of Hope in Port Orange and then Our Lady of Lourdes in Daytona Beach. Rae was also very involved with the Sensational Seniors and was proud to be an officer in the Port Orange chapter of the Sons of Italy. Family will receive friends Tuesday, 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm, at Charles J. O’Shea Funeral Homes, 603 Wantagh Ave. (Exit 28N SS PKWY) Wantagh, NY.
