I was one of the guys he hung around with on 48th street. He was one heck of a nice guy, with an terrific sense of humor. He was a skilled musician, and a dedicated weight lifter. Back in the day, I'd see him several times a week, but I hadn't seen him in years. May he Rest In Peace, in God's care, and may God bless his family in their time of grief.

I remember in 7th grade you had us learning 100 SAT words per week. You never let up. You pushed me to learn. I will always cherish your wisdom and what you taught me. RIP, SIR...

GENTLE GIANT: A Man for all Seasons
Tom was always big.
Tom was always tall.
Seems he was always bald.
Before his ageing times.
Before it was cool.
It was simple good man Tom.
Being Tommy, Thomas, Mr. Masino.
It's how we liked him, loved him.
Everyone we knew respected him.
Could be in any church with cousins.
Singing soulfully you knew he knew God.
That's it: Tommy was a good man of God.
Friend of God witnessing the more for all.
Starting with his great wife & their two fine children.
Tom was a family man giving freely what he got.
From deep good parents Frank & Fay he got the good.
With several sisters & a brother they lived the dream.
Full of faith, hope & love starting at home on the hill.
Echoes in sports & community: a man for others.
Whether teaching Brooklyn kids or courting perps.
Respected roots in actions, intentions, purpose hopes.
Even now hear Tom speak, act, singing for us all:
"I'll Walk With God...from this day on!"
Amen ~ words and deeds singing through this night.
Amen ~ legacy of loving serenading Genevieve plus one.
Knew well how to share wisdom, patience, kindness, grace.
Seeing being believing belonging beyond ordinary moments.
Suffering like his spins a man challenging everything.
Suffering like his teaches a good man what he knows so well.
Suffering catches up with passions, preferences, predictions.
Tommy kept putting pieces together to keep things pure clear.
Grounded in authentic gratitude ~ truth he lived no lies.
No surprise: Tommy being Tom he gathered folks around him.
Being his best ~ good man for all seasons!
Respectfully Remembering Tommy Masino: Nov 13, 2021

I know Tom loved music. There is a song by Tim McGraw called "Humble and Kind". That's who Tom was. He was a man of faith, and he suffered like His Savior over the past few years. He was devoted to Our Blessed Mother and never left Mass without stopping to pray at her shrine at St. Frances. We prayed every day for Tom to have more time, but we know we will see him again.
It has been a blessing to know Tom and Nancy and watch their family grow over the past 30 years. We love you all!
As we did so many times over the years, turn to give each other a Sign of Peace, that's what I give you now Tom. Rest in Peace dear friend. Love, Nancy and Charlie

Tommy was such a warm and open individual. It was always a pleasure to see him at the door of the courthouse in the morning. Tommy always had a kind word or funny story to tell. He brightened up my day. The world is darker for his passing.

Dad,
Thank you for making me the person I am today. Without you I would not be nearly as funny and muscular as I am! I appreciate all you have given me - a house with a backyard to grow up in, more food than I could ever ask for, and above all, your unending love and support. You’ve always told me how proud you are of me, and seeing you fight through all of your illnesses for so long these past years has made me the one who is proud of you. I don’t know what I did to deserve a Dad like you, but I am so grateful. Everyone gets a father, but only the lucky ones get a Dad. I am one of the lucky ones. I love you, Dad! Thanks for everything!
Love,
Your Boy Matthew
I’ll see you in Mayberry :)

We were all saddened when we found out that my cousin Tommy passed away yesterday. Although we know physical pain and illness no longer have any hold on him now, it’s still very sad to lose him. I have great memories of him, especially from when I was young. For me personally, I think the image that stands out the most is of Thanksgiving dinners in the 70s and 80s. We both had big families, and all the cousins got together at one long table. We would be feasting on the antipast and all the courses of the meal, watching the football game in the next room, having great conversations, joking around, commenting on the game, talking about all the food. I remember those days fondly, and for me, Tommy is right there at the table with me. He was a big guy, a gentle giant, a good man. Before making a career change, he was a teacher for several years and was very well liked by his students. He also played the guitar and sang very well. We all sat still and listened to him play the guitar and sing whether it was in the living room or at family weddings. He was a man of Faith, and I know right now he is in Jesus’ embrace. I miss him already, but I will always picture him grabbing his guitar, sitting on a chair, getting ready to sing. R.I.P. cousin Tommy.
