Alex was a worldly man of many stories, from ice skating in Russia to joining the British Army in Germany to playing soccer when he arrived in the US. A favorite story he told related to playing chess against an evil computer: "I was beating him, I had him right where I wanted him, I was going to kill him....and then he took my queen." We will miss his stories and seeing him and Ingrid next door and shopping at King Kullen.

When I first met Opi, he made me a drink: scotch and 7-up and I’ve been drinking that for 42 years. He is now forever together with Omi and playing chess with everyone. He will truly be missed

I had the pleasure of meeting Alex when he worked at Bruno Truck Service in Brooklyn. He came over to me as I was cleaning out 30 gallon wash basin filled with mineral spirits and sludge. He remarked how I was doing a better job then the last tech. Then I met him years later at Kevins house and remembered the kind gentleman that engaged me that day. He was genuine and always a lovely man. He adored his wife and children and grandchildren. The world lost a great man.

Ah Opi, we will miss you as well but I guess you had to rush to Omi’s side. So many years of marriage, through thick and thin. We’ll mourn you and you go rest dear Alex, or play some chess that you loved so much. RIP Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. Love Ann
