Obituary
Richard P. Harris, 67, of Levittown, NY, went peacefully to be with his Heavenly Father on February 14, 2022. Survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Catherine Kropf Harris, and his beloved, devoted son, John Richard Harris. Loving son of the late Dorothy and LeRoy Harris, caring brother of Roy Harris (Debby) and sister Jacqueline Havard (Kevin).
Born in Levittown, New York, Richard was a natural entrepreneur, bartering his services with a neighbor for a lawn mower to start a landscaping business as a teenager. He owned a business in Alaska and, eventually, became the successful creator of The Porcelain Quickbit, his legacy. Richard was a devoted husband, and a best friend and confidant to his only child; there was nothing they would not do together. Richard touched the lives of many people, especially his extended family though marriage. He was a kind and caring soul, always happy if everyone around him was having fun. He loved visiting Saratoga Racetrack every summer, and owned shares of several horses throughout the years. He was a musician and produced/recorded many beautiful songs. Anyone who was in his heart was a recipient of his generous nature. The man with the big heart left a big hole in many hearts this year on Valentine’s Day. Funeral Mass is Thursday, February 17, 2022, at St. Raphael RC Church, 600 Newbridge Road, East Meadow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory to St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York, would be greatly appreciated.
