Obituary

KEEGAN – Leo M. a long time resident of Levittown, NY, passed away on August 22, 2022, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Joan. Devoted father of Mary Russo (Joseph), Ann Johnson (Timothy), Leo M. Keegan MD (Nadine MD), John Keegan, Clare Bogle (Glenn), Laura Ballereau (Laurence), Joan Keegan (Stephanie), Karen Monahan (Michael), Catherine Keane (Robert), Stephen Keegan (Aimee), Daniel Keegan (Jessica), and Regina Tyler (Robert), and predeceased infant, Robert. Cherished by his 31 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Loving brother to his predeceased siblings Phoebe Heitmann and Joseph Keegan. Adored by many nieces and nephews. Proud US Army Veteran. Dedicated 60 year parishoner of St. James Parish in Seaford where he was a Eucharistic Minister and was instrumental in establishing the Catholic Youth Organization; coaching basketball to countless student athletes. Retired Executive Vice President and C.F.O. of Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Family will receive friends Wednesday, 5 pm – 9 pm, and Thursday, 2 pm – 5 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm, at the Charles J. O’Shea Funeral Homes, 603 Wantagh Ave. (Exit 28N SS PWKY) Wantagh, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, 10:30 am, at St. James R.C. Church.
