Obituary
Obituary of Virginia F. Makofske
Virginia F. Makofske, “Ginny” or more affectionally known as “Nin”, passed away suddenly on September 3, 2022 at the age of 90. She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Conrad, and her cherished sister Marilyn Macinko. She is survived by her loving daughter Cammy Goldstein and her husband Jeff, and her granddaughters Caitlyn and Alyssa. Family was the foundation of her life. While raising her family in North Bellmore, she personified the best qualities of motherhood – kindness, a gentle smile, a caring embrace, and an endless dedication to her daughter and her grandchildren. Virginia could often be seen singing and dancing throughout the house when she wasn’t chasing the dogs or shooing the cats. She had a special relationship with God and realized giving back to her community was not an obligation but a privilege. She dedicated time as a Sunday School Teacher and a Nursery School Teacher at St. Raphael’s R.C. Church. Summers were always a special time in our lives, where she would gather her family away to Woodcliff Park, Long Island and enjoy the serenity of the coast. In her latter years, she would travel back and forth from New York to North Carolina, but Long Island was always home. Her positive outlook on life was nothing short of inspirational, reminding us that even hard times have a silver lining. We will carry her in our hearts forever.
