Obituary

Concetta “Connie” Castagna Duggan, of Peachtree City, GA and formerly of East Meadow, NY, died January 11, 2023. She was predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Louise(Cimino) Castagna. She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph “Bobby” Duggan, and her three children, Nicole Duggan Rodriguez of Peachtree City, GA, Michael R.Duggan and his wife Danielle of Levittown, NY, Jennifer Duggan Holley and her husband Chuck of Charleston,SC, her grandchildren Michaelangelo Rodriguez III, Cristiano Rodriguez, Riley Duggan, Cameron Duggan, Beckham Duggan and Aubrey Holley. Her brother Anthony Castagna and his wife Denise of Hicksville , NY, nephews Tony, Michael (Alexis) and niece Jeanine. Brother in law Kenny Duggan and his wife Sheila of Selden, NY, nephews Kevin (Carmen), Timmy, and niece Pam (Bob). She was a wonderful friend and loved by so many, she will be missed. She was born May 10, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY. She was a graduate of Lynbrook High School, SUNY Farmingdale and Adelphi University. While working in Real Estate/Mortgages she became very involved in the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of East Meadow. In 2011, Connie was diagnosed with Ocular Lymphoma . This would prove to be a long road, then being diagnosed with CNS Lymphoma brain tumor in 2012. Although Connie fought very hard, this returned in December 2013. After many rounds of radiation and chemotherapy she received a stem cell transplant in April 2014 which finally lead to remission. During her battle Connie and Nicole became very involved in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. They participated in many “Light the Night” walks and fundraisers. Connie and Bobby resided in East Meadow for many years until January 2022 when they relocated to Peachtree City, GA upon Bobby’s retirement.
