MESSETT – Kathleen of Wantagh, NY on February 7, 2023, at the age of 80. Devoted mother of Michael, Patricia, and Kathleen Schiffman. Beloved grandmother of Shannon, Christopher, Matthew, and Thomas. Loving great-grandmother of Nicholas, Jacob, Dylan, and Jaxson. Survived by her loving sisters, Carol Weir (David) Kumar & Mary Lou (the late Charles) Delmonico. Kathleen’s greatest quality in her life must be her motherly love for not only her children but for everyone that knew her in life. With astounding resilience and great determination, Kathleen provided for her children in every way possible, making sure that they grow up to be the best that they can be. She would later provide the same love for her grandchildren, and even after that, to her great-grandchildren as well. She was a beacon of light for those who needed it, and for that, many people can truly thank her for who she was to them. Her biggest loves in life were her family and friends and her home. Among everything, she also served an honorable career manufacturing for Northrup-Grumman in the 1970s and 1980s, among other jobs that she had worked in her life. She truly was a shining example of a hard-working woman who would do anything to provide and care for her family. Kathleen was a dear and great friend to many, and the pillar upon which her family rested, and will be missed by everyone who knew her and loved her.
