Obituary

CRUSH – John F. of Levittown, NY on February 10, 2023, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Germaine. Cherished father of Colleen, Teresa (Paul) Minnick, Maureen (Robert Whelan), Timothy (Carolyn), Kevin (Donna), the late Patricia (James) Kucinski, Kathleen (the late Michael) Miller, and Robert (Geraldine). Devoted grandfather of the late Michael Mandato, John Husband, Robert Mandato, James Mandato, Frank Mandato, Jared Husband, Jacob Husband, Joseph Mandato, Amanda Lamb, Kristianna Brown, Paul Minnick, Michael Minnick, Colleen Kilgore, Ashley McCall, Patricia Whelan, William Whelan, Timothy Cush Jr., Brian Crush, Kathryn (Katie) Yates, Kevin Crush, Jr., Andrew Crush, Emma Crush, Laura Wolfrom, Emily Crush, Samantha Crush, Eric Crush, and Benjamin Crush. Loving great grandfather of many great grandchildren. John was a very talented young man. He played football for Trenton Catholic High School. After injuring his right arm tossing a javelin, the football quarterback spent his entire summer learning to throw around the pigskin from the left side. In addition to playing football, he also was a member of the Golden Wave track squad. He went on to attend Renssealer Polytechnic Institute at Troy, NY where he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. During his time at Renssealer, he was treasurer of his senior class, a member of the varsity football and track squads, Vice President of Phi Mu Delta Fraternity. He became an electrical engineer and worked for Hazeltine for many years. He honestly was an outstanding example of a hard-working man who worked endlessly to provide and care for his family. John provided for his family in every way possible, making sure that his children grew up to understand the value of hard work and to be the best that they could be in all they did. He eventually retired and spent his days with his beloved bride and family. John will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
