Nina Cooley of East Islip passed away on June 24, 2023 at the age of 93. Nina and her late husband Harold were the founders of AMVETS Post 18 of East Islip. Nina was responsible for the founding of the Ladies Auxiliary of AMVETS Post 18 and was committed throughout life to active military members. Beloved wife of the late Harold C. Cooley, Sr. Loving mother of Eleanora Bodenburg (and her late husband Jerry), Antonia Cooley, Theresa Stiriz (Bruce), Albert V. Cooley Sr. (Frances), Nina Franza (Freddie), Otto A. Cooley, (Donna), Patricia Cooley and the late Harold C. Cooley, Jr. (Pat). Cherished grandmother of 22, adored great grandmother of 36, and fond great great grandmother of 8.

The family will receive friends at the Albrecht, Bruno & O'Shea Funeral Homes, Inc. 62 Carleton Avenue; East Islip, New York 11730 Tuesday June 27th between the hour of 2-4:00 P.M And 6- 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, June 28th between the hours of 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 P.M. Where services will be conducted by the Ladies Auxiliary of AMVETS Post 18 East Islip, 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 28th. Celebration of the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's R.C. Church; 118 West Main Street; East Islip, New York 9:45 a.m. Thursday, June 29th with interment to follow at, Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York.
