I want to express my heartfelt condolences to Marie's family at this difficult time. I taught with Marie at East Meadow High School from 1993 through 2002. She was a beacon of love and kindness for her students and colleagues. One year we shared a duty period during the lenten season, she would remind me on Thursday that it was lent so I would remember to bring the proper lunch. Until the day I retired this past June, I had always kept a meatless lunch in my desk. James Spagnoli

We've known Marie since 2002 when she and Mike became ushers at the 6:30 PM Mass on Sundays at St Raphael's. Marie served as an usher, lector, Eucharistic Minister, and sacristan. She served with Mike on the Catholic Ministries Appeal, too. She was a Rosarian and also was the past president of the Rosary Society. She was friendly, welcoming, happy, and easy to talk to. She was thoughtful and would send out greeting cards and get well cards. She will be missed and was a great asset to St Raphael's. We will miss her at the 5:00 PM Mass on Sundays at St Raphael's. We will all miss Marie, she and Mike do so much for St. Raphael’s. Marie was the President of our Rosary Society, she had so many ideas that we sometimes thought were impossible, and yet they all got done. She was always interested in our lives, were we feeling okay, she would remember if anyone was sick in our family and would always ask about them. Every year she wore the Catholic Ministries Appeal maroon colored hat, she would do anything asked of her, that’s just the way she was. We will always miss her at the 5:00 Sunday Mass, we were a strong but mighty little group. She was also a member of the Mailing Committee, I was always so happy when she showed up. Dear Mike, Our sincere condolences on the loss of your wife, Marie. She was such a hard-worker and took on any task that was asked of her by our church and did it with reverence & love. She set a wonderful example for all of us to follow to be faithful servants.We will not only miss her as a fellow parishioner but will also miss her as a wonderful friend. May she rest in peace. Dear Mike , My condolences to you & your family on the loss of Marie. She will be sorely missed. We were truly blessed to have her at St Raphael’s parish. She always greeted you at Mass with her beautiful smile. She was always available whenever asked to lend a helping hand.. And we thank her for her many years of service as President of Our Rosary Society .May she Rest in the Heavenly Peace. Love Linda Gallagher
