Jane, Danny, Michael and your entire family, I am so glad I was able to come to the celebration of Tom's life. He was a man who truly deserved to be celebrated. Tom and Mike hired me in 1985, it was my first job and it was a long ride. Tom taught me how to follow my instincts not books, when supporting folks with Autism and Disabilities. He modeled kindness and empathy and faith. He was truly an out of the box thinker and was one of the most creative people I have ever met. When he had a new idea, forget every thing else. He would run with it and flush it out regardless of time or conventional restraints. When all of our kids were young and Tom would call in the evening, my husband would hand me the phone and laugh and say I guess I'm on bath time tonight! He created so many philosophies, programs and so many systems that truly changed our field. He was such an incredibly hard worker and passed that ethic on to so many of us that will miss him. He also taught us balance in life. His family was everything to him, we all knew everything Jane, Danny and Michael did, he was so proud. He would bring in tomatoes from his garden and would always have his sneakers ready for "a walking meeting". In recent years Steve and I looked forward to our annual Tom "catch up letter". He was such a great man and his family is his legacy, I will truly miss him xo Theresa

Dear Jane, Danny, and Michael,
Terry and I are deeply saddened by Tom's passing. We are sorry for your loss. We have been praying for all of you since we heard the news of his illness. Tom was so full of life. We enjoyed his company when we all got together with Nick and Judy. We will miss him.
We regret that we will not be able to be with you on Saturday at the service since we will be away at Nicole and Matt's in Maryland.
May his memory and goodness fill you with hope and strength in the difficult days ahead.
With our love and prayers,
Terry and Fred Carbuto

Tom….we were friends for over 50 years but I can close my eyes and still see the first day you came to my house. With your car and OUCH in spray paint written on a dent on the passenger side. You had overalls on and a thermal shirt All the years in Lake George at the Boardwalk Restaurant where you enjoyed your crab legs. Your sausage and peppers dinners. The many times we went out to eat. Talking about the kids I had at Boces. And the best was the two days we just spent in Montauk. You had a beautiful calm personality and I felt when we talked you truly listened You will be missed but NEVER forgotten Robin and Bob

Tom,
I’m going to miss you. Thank you for honoring Jill and I by marrying us 9 years ago. You were such an important part of our special day. And you are the only man I’ve ever known to bring his own olive oil wherever he goes :-). But more than anything I will remember what a genuinely kind and caring soul you carried; Your warmth, your love of gardening, nature, woodwork, and being outside; and the love for your family. Being around you brought a calmness and an ease. It’s hard to believe only a few weeks ago you were telling me with kid like excitement about your new electric bike; giving you the assist you needed so you can once again go on those long bike rides up steep hills with Jane. A beloved husband, father, pop pop, brother, uncle, and more - you will be missed more than you can imagine. I was fortunate to gain you as part of my family when I married Jill, and will miss you greatly. Rest in peace dear Uncle Tom.
