Obituary
John F. Sierra passed away on November 22, 2023, at the age of 77. Adored husband of Susan for 53 years. Devoted father of Colleen Sierra, Karen Boggess and husband Joseph, and Mary Sierra and husband Andrew. Loving “Papa” to his grandson Cooper. Beloved brother of Edward (Linda) and Jennie (John), and predeceased siblings Carmen (Joe) & Margie. Cherished brother-in-law of Carolyn (Edward), David, and Janet (Terry). Endeared by many nieces and nephews. With a larger than life personality, John was truly one of a kind. A loyal friend who would give the shirt off of his back when needed. John loved nothing more than being surrounded by his family & friends, telling stories and being the life of the party. John was a proud United States Marine Corp veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a business owner overseeing two companies Webster-Martin Letterhead and C.K. & M. before he retired. John loved sports, was an avid golfer, as well as a die-hard Yankees, Giants and Knicks fan. In the later years, meeting up with his friends at Dunkin Donuts in the morning and then taking a drive to the beach made his tough days brighter. Family will receive friends Monday, 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm, at the Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Homes, 2515 N. Jerusalem Rd. (Exit 25N SS PKWY) East Meadow, NY with a Funeral Service at 8pm on Monday night during the evening Visitation Hours. A Military Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:30am at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd., Calverton, NY, https://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/calverton.asp.
