Karen was my therapist from March 2023 and I am still truly devastated from her loss. I spoke to others about her often, as it was such a joy seeing her every week. We chatted while she helped me recover, and we were able to connect. She loved her kids so, so much. She spoke about them throughout our sessions, and how proud she was of them. About their softball, about their school activities, just all of it. They truly seem like awesome, amazing kids. I am so deeply saddened by this sudden loss. Her bright and uplighting personality must be keeping everyone happy up in Heaven.

I've been a patient of Karen's since April of 2022. I'm so devastated at this loss for truly every person who knew her because she was just the kindest, funniest, most caring person I've had the pleasure of getting to know. Those closest to me knew about Karen even though they didn't know her because I would talk about her and our conversations about her beloved husband and kids and about my life too and the hilarities of pelvic floor therapy as if she were a member of my family. I was so looking forward to seeing her in a couple of weeks, after my surgery last month, to let her know I was doing better but not good enough to have to stop seeing her, and I'm really sad that the last time I saw her was the last time. I cherished her presence in my life and I hope she knew that. I'm proud to be her "worst patient" and I hope she's chatting away about Emily's softball and Logan's schoolwork and hilarious antics in heaven. I'll hold her in my heart forever. My deepest sympathies to the Balbi's and all who knew her at STARS.

I was so fortunate to meet and have Karen as my physical therapist last year. She helped me tremendously and it was obvious that she was genuinely concerned about her patients. It was clear after the very first meeting that she was a genuine, caring, compassionate person who loved her family and was so very proud of them. I am lucky to have known her. My deepest condolences and sympathy for your tremendous loss. May your beautiful memories bring you comfort and peace.

I met Karen in 1988 when I attended OLOF in 8th grade. I had just arrived from Ecuador so my English was not that great. I remember Karen because she was so sweet and patience with me and along with Liz helped me understand and follow along during my classes. Throughout the years, I was so fortunate to have had Karen's friendship via Facebook, I still remember when she announced her first pregnancy and I really enjoyed seeing her flourished in life. Karen was the kind of person that couldn't and wouldn't go through life unnoticed, she impacted people's lives as she impacted mine with her kindness and compassion, and I will always remember that. My deepest condolences to her husband and children, her immediately family as well as to Jeffrey and Patrick.

I was really shocked when I heard that you’re gone. We’ve met and made funny memories when you, rj & leslie visited us here in PH, even though I was only given a chance to know and be with you for a short time, I can really tell that you are such a sweet and jolly person. I still felt blessed that you were able to visit us and met you my dearest cousin. I know from I have heard and read that you’re a wonderful soul that touched many lives. May God reward you with heavenly joy and I’m sure you are now one of the angels of our family that will always watch over us. Please say Hi to Tatay, Nanay and Mama Beth for me.

I began physical therapy with Karen recently in December. I knew from the first time I saw her smile that she was a genuine, good person. It is rare to come across people like Karen and in the short time that I knew her she was so open-hearted and kind and I got to see what a sweet soul she was.
I was really lucky to have crossed paths with Karen. An angel. My deepest condolences for your loss. Sending love and prayers during this difficult time.
