Obituary
Robert Miele, 87 years old, of Wantagh, NY, passed peacefully on June 20, 2024.
Robert was born on August 12, 1936, to Caroline in Astoria, Queens. After graduating from Bryant High School, he joined the New York City Fire Department in 1960. After 22 years of service, he became a registered nurse and enjoyed his time in many patient care settings, including Hospice.
In 1955, Robert's life took a beautiful turn when he met the love of his life, Carmela, in Astoria, Queens. Their love blossomed, and they were blessed with three children, Camille, Carolyn, and Roberta, who brought immense joy and love to their lives.
After his retirement in 2010, Robert embraced a life of leisure and enjoyment. He divided his time between the serene winters of Naples, Florida, and the vibrant summers of Wantagh, NY. His days were filled with the joy of spending time with his six grandchildren, playing golf, and tending to his beloved lawn.
Robert was predeceased by his mother and brother Raymond. He is survived by his wife and children.
The funeral services to honor Robert's life will be held at O'Shea Funeral Home on June 25, 2024, at 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-9:00. In memory of Robert, the family kindly requests that instead of flowers, donations be made to New York Firefighters Burn Center or St. Jude Children's Hospital, organizations that held a special place in his heart.
