Francesco Gaudio, born on March 29, 1931, in Calabria Italy, passed away on July 21, 2024, at the age of 93. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Francesco was preceded in death by his wife, Assunta Gaudio; his son, Salvatore Gaudio; his brothers, Carmine Gaudio and Nicola Gaudio; and his sister, Alfonsina (Gaudio) Groe. He served with honor in the Italian Army before moving to the United States in 1974. Following in the footsteps of his father, a U.S. citizen, Francesco also proudly became a U.S. citizen shortly after his arrival. He worked diligently in construction as a member of Local 1298 in New York before establishing his own successful landscaping business. Francesco leaves behind his son Nicola and daughters Maria (Michael) and Concetta (Giuseppe). He was a devoted grandfather to Susan, Angela, Salvatore (Jennifer), Franca (Alexander), Christina, and Sabrina (Anthony), and a loving great-grandfather to Andrew, Lucas, Julian, Lilly, Landon, and Harlie. Francesco is survived by his brother Benito and sister’s Rosa and Teresa. Francesco’s legacy of hard work, dedication to his family, and his love for life will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate his remarkable life.
