Obituary

Marilyn Colletti passed away on 8/8/2024 at 11:11 AM, which is a sign of the angels, after a decade long battle with breast cancer. Marilyn was 72. She is survived by her devoted, adoring husband Rich Colletti, her three children Jennifer, Robert and Kristina. Her seven grandchildren were her world; Emma, Samuel, Logan, Harper, Gwen, Eloise and Mikey. She was also survived by her brother Ray and preceded in death by her mother Anna, her father Nicholas, her two brothers Nicholas and Edward. It is impossible to put into words the enormous life, light, and fun Marilyn was to everyone she met. She was effervescent, you sensed and felt her tremendous warmth and energy. Marilyn was a giver. She would give you the shirt off of her back and then bedazzle it and customize it while she was left without a shirt, all the while smiling. Marilyn was a creative genius when it came to decorating, crafting, and home design. Her grandchildren would clamor for “nanny’s famous meatballs”. She was the quintessential host, and often would cook for days only to not eat any of her own food because it was so delicious there were never leftovers. She was adored by everyone she met, even in the hospital the week of her death, she made all the nurses and doctors feel at ease and tried to make them laugh. She had an extensive network of friends and family that she shared life with. She lived life with gusto, enjoying boating, golfing (including a hole in one!), and the moonlight over the ocean. Her people meant the world to her and she had countless moments of joy and laughter. She will be remembered for her courage, her humor and the unconditional love she gave the world. There was truly no one like Marilyn. The hole she has left is too big to fill, but we can all try by living a life Marilyn would have been proud of.
