Jimmy was 6 months older than me and 5 months shorter a fireman than me.. He stayed active the whole time and really paid his dues. Truly a credit to 'the corps' and to the community. One of our very best. God bless him !! Dick Cardozo

Chief Surless was a true gentleman, a good and faithful servant to his family, his community and the fire department family. I had just had communications with him earlier this month on some fire dept business and he wrote me the nicest letter. Chief, you will be missed. Prayers for his family and the EMFD family.
