Joan F. Dowd (nee Ennis), Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Friend. Joan passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born in New York City to Helen and Martin Ennis, both deceased, Joan grew up with a deep-rooted faith and love for family. She was the cherished wife of Francis J. Dowd, who predeceased her, and together they built a beautiful life in Glendale Queens founded on faith, love, and commitment. Joan was the devoted mother of six children: Frank (deceased), Joan, William, Fr. Brian, Helene, and Kathleen, each of whom she loved deeply and supported unconditionally. Her family was the light of her life, and she took immense pride in nurturing and guiding each of her children. Joan’s legacy extends to her grandchildren, who were also blessed by her warmth, kindness, and wise counsel. Joan will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, and as someone whose faith was evident in her compassion, service, and dedication to her family and faith community. She leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her family, friends, and community mourn her passing but rejoice in the gift of her life. May she rest in the eternal peace of the Lord.
