Mary Sue was the daughter of Catherine (Cassie), and Joseph Draper Nicholas of Shelter Island , NY. The youngest of 6 children, she Graduated valedictorian of Shelter Island HS in 1942, attended business school. While working in the city, she met and married her husband, John Gerard Coulon in 1945, and settled in East Meadow in 1951 where she raised 6 children. In 1973 she and her husband moved to the Berkshires, where they were directors of the Madden Open Hearts Camp. She returned to Long Island after retiring in 1994, residing in East Quogue and Hampton Bays. In the last few years , she lived in Lititz,PA. She was preceded in death, by her husband, John Gerard Coulon, her daughter, Patricia Heavey, and son, 1Lt John Gerard Coulon Jr , who was killed in Vietnam. She is survived by 3 daughters, Susan Lacagnina, (Jim) of East Meadow. Geraldine Banks, (Jim) of Lancaster, PA, Loretta Stone (George), and son, Ken Coulon of Falls Village, Ct., 13 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren. And beloved matriarch to countless ,Nieces, Nephews, cousins, and friends.
